Thread: how long is an a&l account number?

i have an old account i wish 2 claim on and the only number i can get from my works accountant is an 8 digit account number but a&l are telling me i'm 1 digit short?

account number is 8 digits but sometimes you have to use the last digit of your sort code before account number ,hope this helps x

i thought that was right.phoned up 2day and guy said it needs to b nine digits,so i asked if he could get me old details on screen,then he told me i've never had an account with them

told him i had one for over 4 years and he argued with me for ten minutes saying i hadnt!

Hi again,I wouldnt bother phoning them they make it difficult enough through letters,start by reading the step by step instructions on this site,there are template letters to help you,once you read up and work your way around the site its pretty easy and lots of people will help you along the way,i wouldve given up ages ago if it wasnt for this site,so just take your time and you will get there,kind regards col x
