Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
We recently moved house. Our car insurance company says that we are now in a higher risk area and therefore are putting our insurance up by 240. Nothing much I can do about that, but what really gets my goat is that they are charging us an 'admin fee' of 120 which is absolutely ridiculous for one letter no doubt computer generated.
Can I do the same thing about this that I can about extortionate bank 'admin' fees?
I truly hope so. Best of luck with it all. It makes my £30 bounced premium charge (See 'administration chearge' thread) seem a bit paltry. Go get 'em..
Oops, just spoken to our insurance broker this morning and it is not a one off 120 charge, it is a monthly direct debit/interest charge of 8% which totals 120 for the year. Sorry for the misinformation.
