I had a barclaycard for years and i missed a few payments so they sold my debt to a DCA, im now paying the DCA a set amount each month.
1.When i phoned barclaycard and asked for my statements they said that my acount is nothing to do with them anymore and if i need statements i should contact the DCA? this cant be right, surely barclaycard should hold all my statements?
2. If i do go ahead and claim back my charges, do you think the DCA would be funny and ask for all the money back which i still owe them?
Hi Citiguy,
The DCA will not hold copies of you statements.
You need to send a request in writing to Barclaycard. they have your statements.
See the templates library for SAR.
As for the DCA asking for the full amount back - I am in the same position and they haven't asked me? Can't say for sure though.
