Hi all

I have an Insurance with Barclays Accident Cash Plan

I claimed last year as I was in hospital for 10 days , I tripped when I was carrying a table and my back went. I was off work 1 week and on the second was going worst so GP send me to hospital and I had an MRI and told me I have to have an operation a laminectomy and discectomy.

They claim that I had previous back problems (as everybody) they looked at my medical records and yes i had back pain before but never diagnosed as lumbar disc prolapse as the GP did this time and they say therefore is a pre-existing condition .

Any advice with this, can I and how can I appeal to "Pre existing condition" with a low back pain that everybody has.

Not my area of expertise I'm afraid but this is absolutely typical of this type of policy. If they can get out of paying, they will by any means.

I suggest that you discuss with your GP / Consultant and ask them to write on your behalf to the Insurer stating that previous sypmtoms were not connected to the operation needed, that the circumstances leading up to the need for the operation was the accident and the two were not interconnected.

Initially, this is the best course of action to take. Others here may provide further if not better advice.

:p :p If my advice as been of help, please give me a quick click on the scales to your right ;) ;) :)
