Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
After being successful with the Halifax and part-way there with Cap One (they've offered the difference between the £20 old charge and the £12 new charge), I've decided to tackle hubby's accounts
He has two Barclaycard accounts. They've not been used for some time, probably over 6 years, but he's still paying back monthly, on a repayment scheme to Barclays (they're still being handled "in house" and haven't been passed over to an outside agency!!!).
I'm a bit confused as to whether to send a SAR or a CCA, as with it being over 6 years am not sure whether he'd be able to claim the charges (of which there will be loads).
Halifax - £2281, successfully refunded all charges after LBA letter & telephone call.
Have been offered the difference between the £20 and £12 charges from Capital One -- am sending LBA for remainder.
GE Money - Received settlement of £441, being total charges requested. No interest though.
CCA'd Bank of Scotland / Blair Oliver Scott to produce CCA Agreements on two Credit Cards - well in default, although still chasing payment!!!
EOS Solutions "ceased action on account" on behalf of a friend.
All in all, quite busy at the moment and enjoying every minute of it
