hi this is all new to me,so i may need some help alony the way.
i have joint current account with the alliance & leicster[edit] .
i had my acount for over 20 years,i can not open a2nd acount get an overdrafed but in the last week alone i have been charged £99.00 for two missed debt payments.
I have three young sons one of which as dyspraxia and my wife cant work as she because of medical problems,so with one wage and no help we are in a rut,So its time to firght back
Can you not open a new account at a different bank ? leave the overdraft where it is. If you just get a basic account you'll have your money to spend on what YOU chose not what the bank decides on.
If you can get your letters of to get your statements back (DPA link below) you can then tell the bank the account is in dispute and offer to pay them back an amount each month if its stuck in overdraft.
Have your pay paid in elsewhere and start fresh.
Best place to start read is alliance and leicester as happy has pasted for you, and the FAQS (link below)
Lots of people will help you, and theres many folks in a very similar position to you.
have just spoken to a&l about more charges agian and asked why i had a letter or statements back only to be tolded they had not had any request for statments.have proof of deliver they have not draw onthe cheque i send them saying the acount was other draw on the 22/2/07 yet £3.000 was paid in on the 21/02/07 what do i do now
In that letter are spaces for you to put the estimated amounts, There is a timescale that the bank has to stick too. If they ask for more time say no and then take your case to court. The easiest way for an amount below £5000 is via mcol; Her Majesty's Courts Service
