Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
hiya just thought id update on my case with a&l received statements on day 39, sent prelim letter on 12 march so now awaiting for response, i am ready and waiting with lba to send shortly, however we do have a loan with them and im wondering if they close our account will they demand full payment of the loan, it doesnt expire until next oct 2008. and we really cant afford this. im interested to know at what stage do they close accounts is it before mcol action is taken?
It's usually after they've paid out that they close the current account, kerrianne, but it has been known to happen sooner!
If they called in your loan in retaliation, you would defo have grounds to complain - first to A&L themselves, then when that avenue was exhausted you could go to the Ombudsman.
thanks for that reassurance, i have read about retalliation of some stories throughout the forum but not heard any of those with regard to loans etc. So will sit tight for now.
