Default Those £10 Charges that are withdrawn a month later...

Are these reclaimable? I was looking through this thread of what is/isn't reclaimable (http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...l-charges.html) and I couldn't see anything about these regular £10 charges?

They appear in the same format all the time. E.g. on January 3 this year, it read on my statement: CHG TO 18DEC A/C 1*0*9*2* - £10.00.

They seem to be charges for going overdrawn, usually by a few quid

    Hi Pigeon,

yes! I successfully claimed these £10 charges, mine read just as you describe, CHG TO 'DATE' A/C ....once a month and they were for going overdrawn. Just waiting for payment now!

    good luck with your claim!

Are these not Royalties account charges?

You shouldn't be claiming them if they are. What sort of account have you got? Any insight into exactly WHAT the £10 is being charged for?

    Cheers stitch!

T4FF - Current account mate, like I said in the first post, they seem to be for going overdrawn on a certain date, with the charge following the month after.

Yeah I know you mentioned it first time round. I was querying though because I don't seem to recall ever having these myself nor are they listed on lively's list of charges. This led me to believe your account might be slightly different (ie a student account or summat) or that whilst it LOOKED like it was for overdrafts it was possibly for something else (especially as you called them "regular charges" as an od charge wouldn't be "regular" per se).

I did used to be charged for being overdrawn but it wasn't a tenner! More like 30 quid! Still a bit confused by this charge but if you two are happy it is an overdrafticon charge then yes, as stitch has already said they are claimable.

Just double checking for your benefit pidg, no harm in that

Perhaps it would be of benefit to the site if someone was to query with the bank what the £10 was for specifically then post it up in lively's post, the bank aren't going to keep this information from you. Any volunteers?

hi, just thought I would add....my account is a student account with free overdrafticon. The £10 charge is only applied when I go over my agreed overdraft limit....usually because of charges.

This happens only few times a year, so its not a regular charge. I claimed it because without the charges for unpaid direct debts etc..I would not have gone over my overdraft limit so would not have had this £10 charge applied.

I included these charges with my recent claim, which was successful!

... sorry if I have caused confusion!!. ....but on my bank statements, this charge is exactly how Pigeon described ie...CHG TO 18DEC A/C - £10.00.

Hope that clears things up a bit!!
