Hi
I am just about to send off the final letter before starting the court procedure & i thought i'd better come on here & introduce myself & make sure i do things right, as i'm starting to get nervous about this now.
I'm claiming back charges for my son from the woolwich. I have added the 8% interest & the total including that is £846.00.
When i sent the original letter i got a reply saying they were looking into his concerns & will respond by 12th april. If i wait till 12th april that will be 3 weeks over the deadline of 14 days i gave them, so i'm not going to wait.
Hope this post has made some sort of sense as i think i'm going to need guidance from now on.
Hi starlady22 you should not claim interest until you file at court, send lba with fresh schedule of charges without the interest, write on the fresh shedule of charges that this superceedes any previous schedule of charges sent.
Hi
Sorry but what does lba mean?
I originally got the templates from Martin lewis website & that one said to send schedule with 8% interest & the one i printed from there earlier also said the same thing, now i'm well confused.
LBA is the letter you are reffering to letter before action, in regards to the interest the judicial interest of 8% should not be asked for when sending prelim letter or LBA, only after this and only if they havent offered payment in full can you claim this when you file at court, please read up through the faq's, and step by step.
Hi
I have done the new letter & schedule.
I have read the faqs & mistook where it said charges + interest, to be the 8% interest.
This is why i need help
Anyway once i get my son to sign the letter i will post it off & see what happens next.
Just like BigMac said spend time looking at other threads and make sure you read all the FAQ's first..I know it seems tedious but it is very very important and it will help you in long run...and if you are stuck no matter how silly you think it is just ask everyone here is lovely and they will all help as we all just wanna help the little people stand up for our rights
