Hi All
I have sent my letter requesting repayment off to my bank yesterday - It totals up to £6100 before interest. I will update as and when things happen.
Let me know how anyone else is getting on with same kind of amount - So I know when I can uncross my fingers!!!!
I'm sure you will be successful. I wrote to Nat West on Feb 25th and heard nothing in reply. I then sent the letter before action around March 15th and received a reply on March 20th.
The letter was very polite and denied all wrongdoing (of course) and found no basis for my complaint. However, they agreed to refund the charges in full as a 'gesture of good will' without admission of liability or error.
My refund was significantly less than yours (approx. £1,500), but from first contact on Feb 25th, it has been less than 30 days to reach settlement.
I am now concentrating on HSBC who have at least responded, but are conducting their 'investigation'.
Good luck.

Hi all
Been just over two weeks now and have still not received any reply from the bank after my initial letter asking for charges to be refunded.
I am just about to fill in the lba but have a couple of questions???
Who do I send this to ? I sent the first letter to my branch but do I need to send this somewhere else??
Do i stick to the same spreadsheet or does 6 years now go from today??
Lastly i realised that I included in my claim the Advantage gold charges - Shall i just leave it as is at this stage? Not sure when I changed to the AD Gold so don't know how far to go back and take it off.
Thanks
Seeing as I didnt send prelim letter to borehamwood in first place should i do the honorable thing and send it again to there or just go ahead with lba????
Cheers again!!
Looking at the Ad Gold stuff and it doesnt seem to tell you when it started? Is there a simple way of looking at the state ments - Basically in oct 2004 my Unarranged borrowing fee jumps from £29 to £37. Is this a good assumption that thats when i changed to ad gold account???
I am shocked that i am asked things that i am sure i had clarified so guys please tell me if i need to re do the unarranged borrowing guide and advantage gold thread and i will. £29 (20 uab + 9 adgd) £37 (28 uab + 9 adgd).
Just spoke with the customer services at borehamwood. Was told that my claim is on the system and it was received on the 29th March. They then said that it will be up to 8 weeks from then before I receiver a letter with an offer in it.
Was even beginning to feel sorry for the poor little blighters - said thwey just have sooooooooooooooooooo many to get through!!!!!!
Anyway has anyone got any experience of how lon this bit is actually taking??? Am thinking if its only going to be another couple of weeks I may as well wait befor starting the MCOL and paying the £120 - where as if it is likely to be the 8 weeks then think I should start the MCOL off anyway???
I suppose that Nasty Vest are busy processing all of our lovely claims but I cannot see how, if they have done whatever checks they need to do,it can take them 8 weeks to send out what is, in effect a bog standard letter.
If your claim has been made using the lba letter then the bank only has 14 days to repsond so they are well ouside of this now you may want to consider MCOL.
All I will say is that the offer that they nake is more than lilely to be a lot less than the sum that you have claimed from them and as such it may well be that the only way to get the full amount is to go MCOL.
Help All!!!!!
Has anyone any idea what has happened to the Borehamwood telephone number??? (0208 236 8295)
Just rang it to try and get an update but just complete dead tone!!!
Have they changed it?? And does any one have another number to ring??
