I've started a new thread with the Alliance as its really getting beyond a joke now. I dont suppose any of you feel the way I do about the bank but their call centre staff appear to be sitting inclosed in an iron fort never allowing anyone to speak to any other department in the bank. I keep being fobbed off by call centre staff every time I call, Im never allowed to speak to anyone. I originally claimed an estimate figure, upon the fianal demand for my money running out I called to see if they would discuss a settlement. I was asked to apply for the last 6 years which is what I did, I was also aske to call when I had this figure as they would be in a position to discuss the matter further. I did this on Monday and was basically told to put my claim in writing and I would here from them with a dicison. Guess what!!!! same standard letter blah blah blah. I called again to see if they would disucc this and I was told "GO TO COURT"!!!!!!! So I am. The staff at the bank are rude, aggressive and speak constantly so you cant explain anything, Im sure they are trained to be as aggressive and arguementative as possible just to wind you up!! well today they succeeded and I lost it!! ooops
Join the club. The last time I tried to speak to the 'faceless' ones at A&L was back at the beginning of February after they had just hammered me for four lots of £34.00. and that was on the same day as I paid in. Same thing happened this Saturday, money in to pay the phone bill, thankyou very much customer we have just charged you another £50 for paying two direct debits that I had cancelled!
I sent my first letter requesting my statements etc for the past 6 years to their customer centre in Bootle (recorded) on the 9th of March and then a copy to someone called Mal Boyes again at Bootle(Special delivery) on the 19th. And not a peep from them. All I want is just a bit of old fashioned courtesy, a little letter saying my request has been received and will be dealt with a.s.a.p.
Everybody says be patient. Look at your case, when you finally do get to ask them the magic question, they just say, sorry, we have not received antything, so more time is wasted.
Anway good luck with your case and I'll let you know how I get on.

Have just heard of some one who contacted A&L by normal mail, received an acknowledgement within 2 days and received all their statement within 10 days! If they can do it for one customer, why can't they treat all their customers the same way!
Filed my MCOL late last week they have 14 days from the 2nd April so bring it on..... they are so rude and dismissive that Im going to really enjoy this
THEY HAVE PAID IN FULL 3 DAYS PRIOR TO THE ACKNOLEDGEMENT RUNNING OUT.....FILED ON THE 2ND APRIL ACKNOWLEDGED ON THE 5TH CHEQUE FOR £3609 IN Full and final SETTLEMENT OF REFUND!!!!!
