if you have sent in your request with reference to TWO account numbers, make sure you ALWAYS state the two numbers in ALL correspondence with Barclaysicon, they will reply referring to only one.

    Well, I've had a response.

As predicted by dar3n I've only had ONE letter, despite sending TWO prelims.

It only has ONE reference number on it (which doesn't resemble either of my account numbers) and doesn't refer to either account number either.

They tell me that they are very sorry I've had cause to complain (yawn) and that they will respond within 28 days.

Having given them 14 days in my letter (sent recorded delivery on 26th March) should I :

    1. Wait until their 28 days are up?
    2. Wait until the 14 days I gave them are up?

    before taking it further?

and what do I do next if it's option 2? As this will be the end of next week?

    Thanks for everyone's time.

    CAG4ME,
If YOUR deadline is 14 days, then stick to that, these are your rules now, not theirs.
The only comms you will get from them now is a pathetic excuse of an offer.

    Thanks for that dar3n

That's what I thought.... I'll work on it being 14 working days from 27th, which is when they received my prelims.

    19th April it is then.

One of these accounts is a Barclaysicon Bank Account for Staff, by the way, so this could be VERY interesting......

Friends who are involved in this from the Bank's point of view tell me that most claims under £500 are being settled now, once they are convinced that you aren't going away.

    We shall see!

Well, that's their 14 days been and gone.

Not a peep, other than their "We are sorry you have had cause to complain" (They WILL be! )

    So, LBAs being prepared now.

Still can't wait to see if they treat this differently, as one of the accounts is a Barclaysicon Account For Staff!

    Wey Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Almost ready for a big red ****WON**** next to my thread title)

£435 dropped into my account this morning with the marker "goodwill gestureicon" and "CUSTOMER RELATIONS" next to it.

So I have WON one of the claims.

Strangely, I have had NO correspondence whatsoever since I sent my lbaicon on BOTH accounts.

Here's where it may get VERY interesting as it's my STAFF ACCOUNT that they have NOT refunded! Hey ho.

Court Claim should start Wednesday on that one, so I will give them a few days and then hit them.

having won my first claim i started another one for charges incurred while the claim was ongoing.
had a letter today from a mr singh at customer relations explaining that as my first claim was paid as a gesture of goodwillicon (over £4000) he has decided not to settle my new claim for £150 and i should consider banking elsewhere.
un beee lievably he describes himself as a customer relations advisor.
christ what a way to run a company . if i employed him and he treated my customers in this way he would be fired monday morning , but we are talking banking companies here , the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing.
i have a lovely letter all printed off which is being sent to mr singh and also his employer john varley chief executive of Barclaysicon hehe nothing against the guy mind just the way his company is run and i think i'll open a new account or maybe shove me money under the matress , it'll be safer there .

    Yes, we do.

We get charged the same rate as the customers, despite the fact that we have to also bleed a strange shade of blue when cut, AND we stand a fair chance of getting collared by senior staff and getting "told off" for being overdrawn etc.

Not that our own banking affairs are private or anything.

(As a Manager I was expected to do this should a member of staff's account get into trouble!)

Actually I suspect the other one, on the staff account (soon not to be a staff account anymore) will be the one that they fight me on. Both claims were started at the same time. The lbaicon letter went in the same envelope, yet they've paid one and not the other.

I am eagerly awaiting Monday's post to see what transpires.

how's the head this morning then?

    hope you enjoyed your celebration.

It's interesting what you say about the 2 account thing. I have 2 accounts, and amalgamated my claim. Barclaysicon have made me an offer, which appears to only correspond with 1 account. The other account, according to a helpful lady on the phone, shows no record of any claim or dispute against it! would you like to guess which account has the highest level of charges......?

I wrote back to them for clarification, but have had no response yet.

I'm going to file in court on Tuesday.

Head not as bad as I thought it was when I woke up!

Mmmm *strokes imaginary beard* very interesting OOAK. I have kept my letters pertaining to each account separate, but, saved money by sending them in the same envelope.

I didn't need to do an SARicon, but the prelims went together. I received two letters back with the "we are sorry you have had cause to complain" garbage. One for each account.

I stuck to my timetable and wasn't really expecting an offer (remember, as I was/am (hopefully not for much longer) a member of staff, so I KNOW how they treat people!) on either account, so stuck in the LBAs on 16/4.

Monday's post may reveal all, it may not.

I haven't received ANY correspondence with regard to the £435 they deposited and if they claim it's their final offer then I shall continue and state that they have settled one claim, but the other isn't satisfied.

Good Luck with your case. I shall subscribe later - when I've had some COFFEE!!!!!!!!!

    An update 7 a Question!

    Update:

Letter received today, dated Saturday, stating "whilst they don't agree with me" (TOUGH!!) they have credited my account for the full sum on Ordinary Barclaysicon Bank Account. - This is the sum I spotted on Friday.

Letter Pertains ONLY to this account, under it's separate reference number.

    So ***WON***

    Question:

There has been not a word on the other account (lbaicon letter went in same envelope as that for above account).

Should I give "Customer Relations" a ring quoting the OTHER reference number and ask what's occurring? Or shall I just proceed to Claim now, as they have had their 14 days on this one. This is the STAFF Account. The one i had a feeling they would fight me on!

    I'd be grateful for opinions.

Yeh get onto them stating your dispute and if they dont get their finger out you will carry on regardless.
As they have already had their time to respond you are entitled to start proceedings straight away.

Hmmm payment in full?, I wonder if theyre beginning to realise their pay outs are mounting up here and decided to cut their losses and admit defeat.
