Hello. Driving the car might just make more damage? you state your far from ur place of residment, i'm sure if your a member of the RAC or AA even Greenflag, there will come out to you and your car, just ring them and explain that you heard noises when driving, so you have pulled up and wish there assistance, okay will take a hour for them to reach you, but worth it, no harm in them looking at things for you, if its too bad to drive, you will get a tow to the nearest garage in the area, or towed home dependant upon what cover you have, if you are not a member of any services, i'm sure that a garage cant be too far from where you are. my personnel advice is dont drive as might cause more damage hence more money to get repaired.
