Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Does anyone know if it's possible to claim whilst living abroad?
I am (temporarily) living abroad but still have my address and bank accounts in the UK.
Sending letters etc. won't be a problem, I am however concerned that if I launch a claim and it gets to the court stage I would have to rush home to be physically present.
as to your concern about a court appearance, I think its safe to say the prospect of that happening is extremely slim. To the best of my knowledge, no bank has challenged a standard claim in court, so you would be very unlucky to be the first.
If you can have your mail redirected to you from a family member/friend, then the only issue I can see is a slight time delay, and as its your timetable it shouldn't be a problem.
You certainly have nothing to lose by this, and can only gain with a full refund of your charges.
My name is Dande and i have just joined and about to learn how to start the process of claiming back all the bank charges already paid or should i say was taken from my account

Thanks for the advice.
I can get mail redirected fairly easily, my main concern was the court appearance!
Just out of interest what rough percentage of claims do end up going to the small claims court?
Also, if it does go to the court do you have to make an appearance or just send in the paperwork?
