Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have handed in my allocation questionnaire, as have Natwest's solicitors and was hoping that there may be extra evidence that I can present to support my claim apart from just my charges spreadsheets and communication with my bank. I noted that on the Whistleblowers programme last night that a Yorkshire Bank worker had shown that costs were less than 10p and was wondering if there is evidence like that that someone like me can access to present to the court! I haven't got a court date yet...Cobetts only handed in the allocation questionnaire on the 15th March...but want to be ready for them! If anyone has any advice on any of this it would be greatly appreciated!!
Have you had a look in the legal arguments section? The lassie on the show has stated (in the bear garden) that although the spreadsheet shown on the telly shows 9pm the true costs would be less than £2 but definitly more than 9p!
Thank you for the advice...will certainly check it out!!
I haven't got a separate thread in Natwest...I am literally waiting for the court date but am obviously hoping that Natwest pay up before then! Tried calling them today to offer them an out-of-court settlement but was sent round the houses before they then told me that I would have to contact their solicitors!! Bastards!! Have you successfully taken Natwest to court? I hope so...I tell as many people as I can about this site! Everyone has been so helpful so far! Wish me luck!
I have done with HSBC 3 different accounts, and Abbey National. I ve never had a Natwest account.
No Bank to my knowledge have actually gone to court yet, they alway settle at the eleventh hour! Dont waste you money making calls to them, I am sure they will settle! They do not want to disclose the real costs of bank charges so they can not let the case go to court!
I'm claiming £1583 including interest and then £220 court costs on top so far!! No wonder they want to make me wait...although I have heard of people claiming much much more than this!! I have successfully got money from HSBC twice now in 6 months...they keep on charging me despite me then claiming them back but as I am still paying off a loan with them I can't close it at the mo!!
