Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Never done this sort of thing before hence my real name coming up instead of an aka! Oh well! Anyway, I have ploughed through my bank statements and have just sent my first request for payment to the HSBC. I just need to confirm that what I have asked for is correct! Of course I have requested the charges, but I was also told by a previously successful claimee that I could recover all the interest payments I made on my overdraft. This added up to more than my charges. Were the bank not entitled to charge me interest for being overdrawn? ie, like a loan? I would be grateful to anyone who could confirm this for me.
Many thanks
I'm very new myself so am also finding a few things confusing ... I found this site via another, 'moneysavingexpert' and on that site they have an interest calculator which works the interest out for you! handy for someone like me ... you are not claiming the interest that the bank has charged you... you are requesting the interest from the chatges that they have illegally charged you!
