Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Firstly can I claim charges back from GMAc or online finance?
Secondly have already posted this but havent had a reply am getting desperate. GMAC have passed a so called debt onto DLC debt collectors. I voluntarily terminated my agreement after paying pver 7000 for a peugeot 206. I had to pay 50% of the finance or 4900 and I was free to return the car. They are now trying to claim back 454 for repairs to the car. By the way the car was collected when I was at work and not at an agreed time and so I didnt even get chance to sign any papers and secondly the debt is for over £1000 and DLC are refusing to tell me what the other £650 is for. Where do I stand in all this. Some of the repairs they are claiming needed to be done are just g eneral wear and tear but they also reckon the bumper was damaged and the door was dinted well the door was dinted when I bought it and as far as I know there wasnt any damage done to the bumper when I had it. The woman at DLC practically called me a liar even though the paper is there in black and white without a signature on it. I cannot speak to a manager and they refuse to help me just telling me I have to pay up or else!!
I have just had a letter from GE money which indicates they will be trying the same thing. Did you take pictures of the car after you had cleaned it to prove thta it was clean and free from defects?
