I have sent my prelim letter to Nat west, however i sent it to my branch. Should i have sent it to the address in the contact information thread??
or does it matter.........

Borehamwood address is where you should send them, but if you have sent it to your branch, they will still have sent it onto Borehamwood so dont stress too much. They will have passed it on, but if you start at the beginning of this forum and go read the FAQ's you will find everything in there that you need to know. Always best to read it thoroughly before you get started. And always always send your letters to your bank by recorded delivery so you have proof of when it was sent, whom to, and when it was signed for. Keep everything like that to include in your court bundle at the end should it get that far. You havent mucked up,, but in future, would be better to send everything recorded to Mr. Higleys department at borehamwood. But rest assured, your own branch Im sure will have passed on your letters to borehamwood. Fendy xxx Read, read and read everything, It really does help.

Thanks for that info, i take it i should have sent it there then? Considering i sent the prelim letter 14 days ago should i now resend the prelim to the correct address or send the lba icon

.please advise

If you sent your prelim 14 days ago to your local branch, you can now move on to sending lba icon

but send it to the Borehamwood Address, marked for the attention of Mr. S Higley or his department, ie. customer relations. But please remember to send it recorded delivery,,, and remember to send a copy of your spreadsheet again showing Breakdown icon

of how you have arrived at all charges etc. If it makes you feel better you can copy in your local branch, but no need to. Take it straight to the head guy himself who handles this. Mr. Stuart Higley and his department in Borehamwood. Then wait your 14 days, and see what happens. Best of Luck, you might even get an offer ??? Fend xx

Hi Pete & Fendy,
I've just started the process and sent my prelim letter to my branch also. I got a letter from Natest PO Box 100 Edinburgh EH12 1HQ asking for a fee of £5, which I duly sent. A batch of 52 weeks worth of statements arrived last Friday. I'm now waiting for the other 20 weeks worth to arrive, otherwise I'll be sending firstly , a polite letter, then following up as per the advice on this site. Hope this may help reassure you.

They usually get there in the end i.e. send you all your statements but they can and have been known to come through in batches. So dont worry too much. Fend xxx

just been reading our debacle - my God! Haven't you just been through the mill! Mind you m8y, with that amount at stake, it'll be a very satisfying grin on your face at the end of it!! Best of British mate!

BTW, before I start my own journy thread - can I ask (and yes, I have read the FAQ but am thick), not being able to find the definitive answer - do I claim the full charge amount back as shown on my statements (eg £30 per unpaid direct debit icon

) or only a percentage of these? If I've read correctly it's the full amount??? Cheers

Hi there, yes you bill them back the full charge. i.e. bounced cheque, unpaid direct debits, etc. etc. Any charge like this that appears on your statement you bill them back for the full amount, not a percantage of it. If you start your own thread to plot your journey so we can all read it, and use the spreadsheets created by Vampiress here on the site. To be found in the templates library icon

. Opening CAG page then top left side the library with templates section. You use this and it adds the 8% interest for you from the date you got charged the charge (if you know what I mean) or if youre using the more technical spreadsheet for the overdraft icon

interest, thats also found in there, but it is harder to calculate. But to be fair if you have gone over your overdraft limit and you have been charged interest on that, then really you should be using the spreadsheet that works out overdraft interest, as its fairer to you and gives a more accurate calculation of your interest. But if youre just wanting to claim the stat simple 8% use the basic UK template spreadsheet. Just fill in your own charges off your statements. Only thing you cant claim for is an account charge, if for instance you had advantage gold account and they charge you 12 quid a month for that service, then you cant claim that back, but anything else, yes you can. in the next two days........just read another post with regards to Natwest icon

coupling their Advantage gold account fee with their UAB charge............didnt realise this when i sent my prelim request for refund. However now corrected the amount on my LBA.......will this have any negative effects???????????? i have added a sentence in the LBA stating that the AG Fee has been removed from the total...........

No its ok, dont panic. You can change your charges spreadsheet right up to filing at court, so long as you include a sentence as you have already rightly done stating why the figure has changed, in your case, taken some charges out where they have amalgamated AG fee with others. So your on track, done nothing wrong. Incidentally if any more charges appear on your statements right up to the date when you file at court, you can add those to your spreadsheet too. Have you made a mistake by sending it to the branch? Anyone who said yes is not being helpful. We do advise customer relations unit but the branch also has instructions to pass charges letters onwards to the right place, although there will be a delay in receipt by the correct people. However when you send the letter before action icon

then make sure it is sent to the place which we advise, ok?
