Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Received a response from Halifax Stating the usual sorry to learn you are unhappy. They state the complaint handling rules set out by their regulator and financial services authority give 8wks to investigate and respond to complaint, however i am issuing them with a final letter then if no reponse court action. Any sugestions please:idea: Reverley
Stick with it. I have challenged fees in 4 separate accounts with the Halifax, Visa included. Each time I have received exactly the same letter at each stage of the claim.
1st letter - standard fob off - ignore it and write back threatening court action.
2nd letter - offering roughly between 50% to 65% of amount claimed (less the interest of course) - up to you whether you accept or not. I have rejected 2 offers successfully and received final "gesture of goodwill" letter at full amount claimed. Am still awaiting responses on other 2 claims but am hopeful for full amounts.
