    Default minor concern

Hello. I have totted up the ludicrous charges Barclaysicon have half-inched out of my account in the past three years and they total £900. Obviously I want this money back but having looked through the Litigation Concluded and Litigation In Progess forums I notice that there isn't a single Barclays thread in the concluded one and a hefty number in the in progress one.

Has anybody reached any kind of conclusion with Barclays, for better or worse?

Other than we all agree they are expletive expletives, not really. Theres a group of us all waiting for court dates. its a group that is growing daily. the general consensus is that they are stringing it out as long as they can, though i would imagine as the numbers increase, the ability for one/two or a handful of Barclaysicon numbers to manage this stance effectivley will dilute and the approach will become less manageable.

It could be they know something the others dont and will end up in court - how likely is this? elvis as star witness, shergar will be exhibit A)?

If it does go to court, we all feel prepared enough to deliver a watertight case, and the details of the first one will be all over here like a bad suit anyway, regardless of the result. They cannot hope to win, and it wont be cost effective for them to attempt to either.

I'm not 100% on this but...
I think this is because they are holding out until the last minute then paying up with the condition that you sign a cofidentiality agreement.
Sorry i can't be of any more help!

There are some that have been concluded, but they were before those forums existed.

The first one that I know of against them was settled almost at the door of court - they literally got a court date and phoned the chap the day before they were due to appear.

Theres is little point in confidentiality agreements at this point? What sense would that
    make?

Two possible reasons they are not paying out -

    A) They are going to defend as they believe they will win
    B) They know they will lose, they are keeping our money as long as possible because it sends out the signal that they are not pushovers and some people may fall by the wayside - not forgetting of course they are using it in various other sidelines that all banks do.

    I reckon B).

    Anyone else?

    I reckon B too.

I think the confidentiality agreement is to stop people selling their stories to the papers.

I also agree, what can they possibly know that the other Banks don't?? And after all this is Barclaysicon we are talking about, not the most intelligent bank of all.

They will pay out at the last moment and try to keep us quiet.

But if all the members of the Barclays Group suddenly disappear, won’t it be obvious what has happened?

Witney, don't let these pending cases put you off, it's your money and you are entitled to it.

I agree its got to be B. All I want is my money so if they think I'm going without it they are sadly wrong.
