Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
i have filed a summary cause with my local sheriff court and had the papers served on Abbey by a sheriff officer
but know what i have my court date but have not had any response from abbey???? do i just wait out for my day in court or should i be contacting them? or have i missed something??
I am in the same position as you at the moment.
You can find out on the Return Date from the Sheriff Clerk if the Bank are going to defend, and depending on what they are going to do you need to prepare yourself for court if that's what's happening. Although I don't think any banks have actually been to court yet.
However, Get all your paperwork organised now, incase you do need to go to court, it's called the Court Pack and can be found in the forums...
