    Default is it to late-banks finding loopholes

    :idea: last week i sent a letter to my bank (Abbeyicon) to claim bank charges of just over £2000 over three accounts. today i recieved letters stating that they are looking into matter and will let me know if they they need more than four weeks to deal with complaint. what should i do now.

    You should be sticking to YOUR Timetable NOT theirs

    Day 1 ) Send Prelim (14 day limit)
    Day 15) Send lbaicon (14 day limit)
    Day 29) File at Court
    (you could also give them a couple of days to allow for post time)

    Have a good read of the FAQS and the the process, as the bank are trying string you along.

    this isn't the bank trying to find a loophole, they have been using this line from day one.

    Hi! Scary aren't they?!! Don't worry though- like everyone before me says, this is nothing new, they are just trying to scare and baffle you into believing they have a case to answer. Good luck and just follow the fantastic advice of the ones who have been there before us!!

    have to agree with all the other reply's they seem to send out standard letters to everyone advising 4 weeks to investigate

    Stick to your dates and you will be fine

    It's true - let them take as long as they want to investigate - you raise your claim in your own timetable...and they may realise that their investigation is a waste of time...they will be refunding you anyway...good luck.
