It may be worth Submitting a SAR to them requesting all your Information regarding your loan, Also ask for a Transcript or Audio copy of any telephone calls relating to your loan. I would not be surprised if you get the answer that the call was not recorded though.

on a Northen Rock loan and was told when applying on the phone, that if I didn't take the PPI, the loan would be at a higher interest
