Thread: mcol acknowledged will they wait 28 days?

my claim was served on the 9th march and has been acknowledged by the Nationwide, according to the mcol site, it states it has 28 days to respond will the nationwide wait the full 28 days? or will they settle sooner or issue a defence, i wonder if they are trying to hold on until the new ruling come into affect in april (i think thats the date) any advice would be great!

hi endor71 i was reading your thread and you mention the new rule in april !! i think i may have missed something, i hope it dosnt affect mine then also in due april. so what is the new rule? please enlighten me

This is the OFT report. Regardless of what they say, it is only a ruling/recommendation. It won't change the law and won't affect bank claims at all

i have issued a MCOL and it was acknowledged on the 9th March as well, i received a letter yesterday stating that they were defending the claim.

Mine was deemed served on the 14th Feb, they paid all charges and 8% interest on the 28th to give you an idea !

I submitted my claim using mcol over the weekend, can somebody give me an idiots guide as to what I can expect to happen next?!!! Should I have received confirmation of my claim in the post? They have debited the £120 fee from my account. I was going along fine up until now but now feel out of my depth!! Help!!!

Seems like the 'trend' is that Nationwide say they are going to defend. Not sure they have ever put a defence in though.

My MCOL was filed and acknowledged as filing a defence on 28th Feb.. been 2 weeks and not seen any mony yet, but if lori is anything to go by then the queue is getting shorter..

And despite the rumour.. Nationwide havent run out of money UNTIL ive been paid

Thanks lori, I received an acknowledgement today, I believe they have 28 days to respond one way or the other, so we'll see, hope they do the same as your case and realise they're fighting a losing battle and just settle!! Well done on getting your money back - have fun spending it!!
