Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
When I took it out I was young and naive about financial matters.
I don't remember anything being said about PPI - so it was clearly an opt-out system rather than opt-in.
Therefore I clearly didn't know that I didn't need to have it.
I wised up and cancelled the PPI in 2005.
Going back over old statements, the premiums for this total a substantial three-figure sum.
Is it worth firing off a letter suggesting it was mis-sold and asking for that money back?
(Incidentally, when I recently requested statements for a charges reclaim, the accompanying letter with them said they had enclosed all the information they held on me - which implies they don't have the original credit agreement)
