First Capital Connect (formerly Thameslink) delay compensation
Hi
Since FCC took over the Thameslink franchise from Bedford to Brighton, Sutton and Wimbledon they have ditched the punctuality driven 5% season ticket renewal discount.
In its place there is a "Delay-Repay" form that you have to complete which allegedly compensates for delays and generally crap service. It is supposed to pay a 50% refund for 30mins delay and up to 100% for more than an hour.
Obviously this is a major shift in policy, in that the onus is now on the passenger to be sufficiently hacked-off to be bothered to complete and send-in the form, as opposed to FCC just applying the discount across the board for the frequent sub-30minute delays, over-crowding and lack of service.
In addition it appears to be taking an unacceptable length of time to get this form processed - I have been told to expect a reply in 4 to 6 weeks ! Basically I think this is right out of order, especially as the service is generally SO bad anyway.
Anyone have any similar (or even different) views?

I think this is done partiularly to profit, and nothing more, as they maybe have regretted bringing it in in the 1st place! I would be writing to them telling them this is wholly unacceptable, and 14 days is a "reasonable" amount of time to expect a turnaround. 6 weeks is a disgrace!
