Hi, this was an article in my local newspaper (The Argus) on Monday 5th March. Basically the article stated that the Office of Fair Trading is due to declare bank charges illegal and order banks to refund what they have overcharged. The report is due to be published in the next three weeks.
Has anyone else heard about this? I am about to claim back my charges but wonder if I should wait now as according to this article the banks will have to make a refund on request once the article has been published.
Have a read through the site. you will notice the OFT ruling is eagerly awaited. I have no illusions, there is a no chance the banks will just hand the money back In my opinion you will still have to claim.
