No doubt you will receive your first acknowledgement this week, standard "sorry to hear that you are not happy with our service ....blah blah", I presume that you gave them 14 days to respond, in which case when is that deadline?

    just a quick question.

as the information i have obtained for my charges is available online, i have used this method of working out how much they owe.

but, if i end up filing court action, what is needed to support the claim? do they want full stataments showing all transactions including the charges?

the online banking allows you to go through your statements and just select the charges, which is what i did, and i have these web pages saved. are these sufficient for starting court action?

These should be sufficient (but printouts of the whole statement page showing the charges and normal transactions might be better) but please note that you normally don't submit them to the court until about 2 weeks before the final hearing of your case.

If in doubt read the FAQs

If still in doubt - ask!

Hi Topcat again, just enquiring after your preliminary letter and subsequent question regarding statements, did you include with your letter to the bank a schedule of charges?, i.e. a list, which you compiled of all unpaid direct debits and standing order charges and overdrafticon excess fees (if applicable). It might be helpful to you if you could have a one page list to hand, rather than at this stage lots of statements. sorry if you have already done this, it just wasn't clear from your post.

I know that you have mentioned the bank's online facility, but if you check the "sticky's" i.e. the very top postings in the bank template library (only avail when you have signed in) there are spreadsheets avail for you to list your charges which you want to claim back from the bank.

And when you get to the stage of taking further action with the court (unless the bank pays out first ha ha ha ha ha) these spreadsheets can help you to work out the interest (but I wont complicate matters at this stage!)

If you need any help or clarification just shout!
    regards Red

yup i included the spreadsheet of charges with my original letter.

ive got the sheets filled in, both without interesticon (for my prelim demand) and with, for the later stages.

Oh and very wise to have the two spreadsheets, with and without interesticon! Very prepared! Guess when you calculated the charges that you thought you would be taking it further!

yup, thats exactly why i did it.

i did a load of reading on here and ltsbicon tactic seems to let it get to court stage so might as well be ready from the start.

and nope, still no letter from them.

Well top cat from my experience with Lloydsicon it would appear that depending upon the amount you are claiming as to when they settle. If that helps. My first claim for a few thousand went on for 3 months until almost the last day before court. My second one got settled two days after I applied to the court, although this one was for about £750. My current claim is for another account and is up in the thousands again and I am past court allocation and onto the final hurdle.
This may be a rough estimate to help you with your claim!

And so the next count down begins!

Lets hope that with the amount that you are claiming TopCat that you will be able to have the money refunded over the next 6 weeks or so!

Next decision to ponder over the next 14 days is whether to apply directly to your local court or to moneyclaim online!
