    Red face Egg Offer

Sent my first requests to Eggicon (Green) and Egg (Blue) on 23rd February. Received replies to both today offering to pay back the difference between the £20 charges and the now reduced charge of £16.

    Green Card
    Requested £412 + £44.94 interesticon
    Offered £78 and no interest

    Blue Card
    Requested £140 + £15.80 interest
    Offered £28 and no interest

They also say in their response letter that the OFT indicated that it would not proceed further against Egg on the basis that Egg reduced its charged from £20 to £16 voluntarily. I still think this is far too high.

Haven't noticed anything about Egg's reaction to reclaiming bank charges so far!!

Does anyone else agree and should I proceed to stage 2 and send them a 'court action' letter.

Also, is there a risk they could close my accounts and demand that the current balances be cleared immediately?

Ok this is standard rubbish from Egg. As for the OFT they dont make the law and the law states that a penalty charge is unlawful in this case.
So you need to send your next letter incorporating a rejection of their offer as a full settlement.
They could close your account however this is rare but there are actions you can take should they try this tactic.
