Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I Havent Made A Claim Against Egg But They Have Recently Told Me They Are Increasing The Apr On My Card From 16.9% To 21.9% I Have £4800 On It And Cant Transfer It To Another Card As I Cant Get One. i do go over my limit some months and have charges that they put on for late payments, i can hardly afford to pay this off as it is but increasing it to 21.9% is so unfair.
they said if i close ac i have 60 days to pay it off at 16.9% after that it goes to 21.9% i spoke to a thomas peoples who was so unhelpful, when i asked to speak to someone higher up he said he couldn't get anyone else to speak to me re this query, i asked for his name he then said he could get someone to call me back but couldnt guarantee when.
My wife has had this email through from them as well. I emailed on her behalf as on the email it said they are "Personalising" interest rates for customers. In the email I asked as they were "Personalising" interest rates could I have a Breakdown on how they had worked out my wife's as the jump from 16.9% to 21.9% is nearly 30%!!
They sent an email back saying they can't as they don't have a break down, so I asked well how is this personal to my wife then?? Awaiting a response.
I also asked if they are pushing there rates up by 30% for certain customers are those customers then entitled to 30% extra customer service? But then I thought an extra 30% on zero is nothing anyway?!
We have had several problems with Egg never seeming to receive requests, as we asked to cancel payment protection countless times going back to october, it has finally stopped now.
I have never known a company to treat there customers so badly.
I had the same email too - mine went from 16.9 to 21.9 and my hubbys has gone from 16.9 to 19.9 - just glad we have just transferred our balances off to a 0%.
I have just incidently sent them a CCA request for mis sold PPI and thought I was paranoid at first!

thank you for your responses, i am trying to transfer mine over to someone else but have been unsuccessful, i think due to me going over my limit on a few occasions. i am stuck here i think and have to accept what there doing as i have no way out.
When I worked for Prudential they bought Egg completely back into Prudential hands and tried to make it more profitable etc by minimising the amount of duplication between the two business' etc.
It didn't work and they sold Egg for around £250m less than they were offered about 5 months before.. That kinda tells you everything. This is their way of getting the profits back on track.
The customer service (from my experience) was also a lot better too...
hi redsue - can you tell me who you transferred to?
(animal eyes) i always thought Egg were ok in the past, say a year or 2 ago always friendly and willing to help on the phone but now they just seem rather rude & unhelpful, not giving answers to questions.
