I Have An Egg Card - I'm Not Sure What Bank This Is?
I Havent Made A Claim Against Them Yet But They Have Recently Told Me They Are Increasing The Apr On My Card From 16.9% To 21.9% I Have £4800 On It And Cant Transfer It To Another Card As I Cant Get One. Can They Just Increase It? Is It Because Of All The Charges People Are Claiming They Are Now Increasing Peoples Apr On There Cards?
I Want To Close The Account And Set Up Arrangement Do You Think They Will Do This?
Firstly, I'm not sure how much of a response you will get right now because you have posted this in the site suggestions forum which is relating to the website as opposed to the content (such as bank charges). It may be worth seeing if one of the mods will move this to the Egg forum (yes, there is one!) and you may get more help there.
You first question - egg is egg. As above, there is a section on egg so you should be able to find help there.
If your card isn't on a fixed rate (and is therefore on a variable rate), in much the same way as mortgages go up and down, egg are entitled to do the same with your egg card.
I wouldn't be surprised if this has been done to counter the money lost from paying out refunded charges, this is just my own opinion though....
Final question - I'm no expert in these areas and will leave the final say to someone else. I would think though that your question will be hard to answer. It's a bit like asking how long is a piece of string. No one can say for sure what the banks are going to do - you can do little more than ask and see what they say.
