Hi just wondering if anyone could help, about 2 yrs ago my partner had finance with a company called cando. Im pretty sure it was these as we have thrown all papers out ,anyway a debt that was down to £1000 escalated to about £6000 in charges and so on. Anyway we now dont have the agreement number, does anyone know if i can ring the company and ask for details/get agreement number on this account as it finished about 2 yrs ago now? are they likley to still have this information?, and are they likley to give it me?.
Firts you have to send them a Subject access request under the data protection act. This will give you details of charges and account info. as you don't have an account number give them your adress and any other info you can think of. It will cost £10, this is the max they can charge. They have to comply within 40 days, send it recorded delivery and keep a copy. Might be worth throwing in a CCA (consumer credit act) request which requires them to provide you with a copy of the agreement, within 12 days. No cca no debt. This will cost you £1.
Good luck and keep looking on the site, there's loads of help
