I have finally started to try and recover my money back from Abbey, just under £7k. I've received my statements and microfiche and totalled up the charges. I've sent them a letter (template from the money expert) and a schedule of charges, however on the schedule i totalled up the charges on the day they were applied to my account e.g. 3x£35.00 are £105 on the schedule. Should I have listed every single charge individually, this would have been a lot of paper and was I being naive granting some intelligence to people at Abbey.
Hi Geordie and welcome to the site, the statement of charges should be clear so there is no misunderstanding, you should have every charge individual with dates and amounts so as they can verify each charge, i know its a lot of time and paperwork but it will be worthwhile, good luck.
A quick update, received a letter from Abbey today acknowledging my "complaint" stating they may need 4 weeks to investigate. Do I have to give them 4 weeks or can I proceed with the timescale I set out in my letter to them, 2 weeks to refund the money?
