Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Having worked out the charges A&L have applied to my account - £750 I wrote to ask it back. Got standard ' terms and conditions' crap and 'in line with other financial institutions' blah blah. Wrote again and explained I would take to court and include interest but prepared to accept x amount in settlement - got one line reply saying 'they confirm the charges are correct and they will not refund'.
So... what now, another letter or straight for MC-online?? A bit scared of going to court but is it more likely they'll just pay out??

Hi, claire1976, welcome.
They will not 'just pay out', you will have to instigate court proceedings. It's most unlikely that you'll ever have to appear in a court room, so don't be scared.
If you've had a good read around you'll know that A&L pay up once they've had court action taken against them, without it ever getting into the courtroom.
The process is extremely well documented on here. It has been tried and tested for a long while now, so the hard work has really been done for you.
thesergeant has given you some good advice; if the letter you sent was the lba then you can now proceed with your MCOL.
