If you go to annualcreditreport.co.uk – a free credit report every year, no credit card details required you can register for free and possibly get a free credit report ( I say possibly because it depends on what region you are in), BUT, more importantley whilst on there you can sign the petition to prevent government from allowing banks to give info regarding their customers to credit agency's and the like.
