    Default Bank Of Scotland Charges

Hi! to everyone. I have recently just been made redundant, and as a result had to cancel all my direct debits, as I didn't receive my last pay. I explained my situation to the Bank of Scotlandicon, and initially they were quite helpful and because of the short notice given to them I expected some charges. Lo! and behold the letter dropped on the mat 2 days later.
I phoned the bank, hoping they would be more understanding, but no joy.
I will still have to pay the charge, but as my redundancyicon won't be paid for 8 to 12 weeks, I will be charged for not paying the charge and so on it will go. I have now paid the £5.00 fee for my last six years statements and intend to see the matter through to it's conclusion. I will also take the appropriate action to recover any unfair charges incurred after this. So here's hoping all goes smoothly, although somehow I doubt it.

hi, if this is the only charge that is going to cause you a problem just now i would be tempted to go into the bank . tell them you have joined this site that you know you can claim these charges back through the courts however you are there to give them a chance to save time and money by refunding it there and then. i have found this worked on several occasions and should help you get through til you can get your feet. i find doing this in person and in a reasonably loud voice usually has the desired effect as they know they are on dodgy ground. meanwhile make sure you read up on whats to come on the site so that if you have other charges to come you will have a firm understanding of what is required of you. good luck
