Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Re: DPA - Inspecting files for manual intervention?
This is possibly in the wrong thread, but it is about DPA so you might be able to help!
I have written to my bank "Clydesdale" and they have responded saying that they would be more than happy to send me all information since mid 05 as all records before this time were not held in a suitable filing system (or something like that) and so they do not have to provide them.
Is there another letter to send back refering to a previous example - the reason being is that I only have copies of the past 4 years not six in my own files.
Re: Clydesdale Bank - Inspecting files for manual intervention?
Hiya,
This seems to be the Clydesdale's stalling tactic - I've been battling for 2 months now trying to get my old transaction details from them (no joy yet btw).
Have a read through my thread (under Other Institutions-Yorkshire Bank-JMio Vs Clydesdale Bank) and you'll find contact details for who to speak to at the CB (Gordon Watt would be a good one).
My best advice is to lodge a complaint about them with the ICO, a couple of others have gone down this route & the statements have arrived. The ICO folks are really good - give their DPA Helpline a call.
