hi everyone,

i bought a BRAND new VW Passatt in june 2004. i paid the £500 deposit with my credit card in april 2004.

to say the car was problematic is an understatement!! its been in & out of the garage 34 times in less than 2 and a half years!!

i kept on complaining to the finanace company i bought it from, in this case i got it direct from VW's own company - VW FINANCE. i bought it over 5 years on HP.

they kept telling me i had to take it up with the dealer, which i did. time after time, but it KEPT on goign wrong and all kinds of faults and problems have occoured, costing me and also time off work, major inconveninece to myself and my family etc etc.

now, finally im exactyl 50% of the way through my finance agreement, so i have handed back the car - "Voluntary Termination", it seemed my only 'out' and seeing as VWF wouldnt take back the car (that was blatantly faulty - a 'friday car'!) i have had to put up with this for 2 and half years!!

as my knowledge of consumer affairs has been crap, im now playing catch up - im asking:

1. do i have a case against VWF in any way - as they 'made me keep' and repay a car that was not working properly, if so what do i need to proove and present?

2. as i used my credit card to intially pay the deposit - do i have any way i could claim against the credit card company?

any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Pete
