Default Natwest say OFT gives them 6-8wks to respond to bank charges letter.

Natwesticon say OFT gives them 6-8wks to respond to bank charges letter. Hi Everyone,

Well I'm trying to claim back bank charges from Natwest amounting to £1,200. I wrote the standard letter to them nearly 3 weeks ago and basically received a reply saying that the Customer Relations Team would contact me within 10 days. Well, the 10days came and went, and I was about to initiate proceedings against them using the claim online site, but then decided to ring them up for a last attempt to resolve it. Well this was in the morning and by the afternoon I finally got a call back saying that the Office of Fair Trading had now given them 6-8 weeks within which to respond to letters regarding bank charges. And that they would be getting back to me with an offer in about 5 more weeks. Does anyone else know anything about this?? And do I really have to wait that long just to receive a reply to my original letter?? Im really confused as to what I should do next.

Anyone who can shed some light on this itwould be much appreciated!

    utter BS

you should have kept to your schedule,
phone callsicon are useless and just used to divert you away from claiming.
issue a lbaicon now giving 7 days.

totally agree no such thing has happened. FSA rules on complaint handling do say 8 weeks in total but that is nothing to do with charges issues and unlawful charges.
