Thread: BathgateBuyer v RBoS Credit Card

Well, as part of my efforts to get financially back on track, I'm sending off my SAR today to try and reclaim the charges from my credit card over the years. I'm sure it will come to £500 or thereabouts given the periods of unemployment I've had. Another problem I found with RBoS is that they don't let you pay at a branch which was always a frustration for me.

Anyhoo, I've already taken on three banks, so hopefully this one will run as smoothly as the other 3!

Preparing prelim letter to RBoS for £432 worth of charges in the past 6 years (I must have managed this account way better than some of the others recently which is astonishing giving that they don't allow you to pay by Giro in their branches and that the payment date has always fell about 20 days after pay day!).

I've long since made a CCA request in respect of this account, but this has now passed the 12 + 30 days deadline. I've complained to the Bank and it has so far been ignored, but my local Trading Standards Dept have now asked for copies of all my info in respect of this matter.

Ooooh exciting.

Oh noooo, they've gone and responded but refusing to accept that they are not entitled to add interest or charges during the period of their default on this. Oh well, back to sending another pile of letters to them!

Have also sent off my preliminary request for refund of charges today. These total £583. The balance of my card is £2.1K, so it would be nice to have that reduced to a more manageable sum!
