hi, im quite new to the site and have just begun the process of relaiming bank charges from a & l, have sent S.A.R at end of jan 07 and am wondering whether to send a reminder as ive received nothing so far. ive been reading all the differnt forums, advice, and other info and have been most impressed. i will be following threads in this forum, and will keep you up to date with any progress.
Welcome aboard, just saw your post in the welcome section so had to come and say hello, The SAR gives 40 days to comply so has a little way to go as yet.
You could have a look at these letters if you are close to the end of the SAR deadline.
I'm sure you will keep us posted in this thread, however if you want any quick answers to questions you could try the chat room as there are usually some helpful people there.
Best of Luck

Any advise offered is my own opinion, and if in doubt, always seek clarification.

Many thanks for the warm welcome, i will sit this out to the 40 days then the action will commence, however im a little confused whether to send prelim letter next or lba, some cases ive read have not sent prelim. please can someone clarify.
many thanks
It is best to send prelim letter then lba, this will show that you have made every effort to get this resolved or at least start a meaningful dialogue.
It is VERY unlikely that it will go to court but the history of how you have approached this will lend weight to any case.
So to clarify, once you get the statements, send prelim (14 days) then LBA (14 days) then file the claim.
Keep us posted please,

Kerrianne,
A&L left it until the very last day (39 days) until the statements arrived.
I sent of my PRELIM letter last Monday so only a few days until I can send out the lba - nothing (as presumed) heard from them yet.
I have succeeded with 2 other banks so looking forward to more money coming back in.
many thanks for that information blimeyboy, congratulations on your previous success maybe on this third attempt you'll be our successful lucky mascot and lead the way for all Abbey wins. i'll be folowing your progress, and will keep up to date on my case. kind regards kerrianne.
