first of all id like to say hi, im kazsymonds and it looks like you have a nice forum here!
Recently i wrote to Halifax to ask for my charges back (credit card and current a/c). I got a letter back today saying that the charges are in the terms and conditions i agreed to and they wont be refunding!
Has anyone else experienced similar?
Is there a template for the next step? (sorry a search didnt return much)
Yes as im an accountant i had all my statements and i listed them by date and the detail they left, i sent a copy of the document to them with the letter.
right yhou need to read the FAQ first and then send them a letter from the library,1st request for repayment,if you read the step by step its dead easy, theyh usually tell people there not paying, thinking people will give up,dont stick to yhour guns, its your money
A little update, Halifax have offered to pay me £414 bank charges (£492 claim), and £275 for my credit card charges (£550 claim) i am going to take the bank charges but i am going to persist with the credit card.
Ok, i have declined the £275 by letter ( the one in the template) i said that they had 10 days to pay, (this was on the 14th), i have received no response. Does this mean they didnt receive it, or do we think i should start taking court action?
hi,i,m linemonkey and i hope you can help me with some info.i have claimed £599.00 from B.O.S and £87.00 from Halifax who are the same bank.I have claimed separately and have recieved the same letters from both(our complaints procedures take 8 weeks .blah de blah).i have sent both L.B.A,s as their time is up.but as the cost to start proceedings is possibly more than my claim from the halifax, would it be possible to to sue the both of them under the same umbrella.HBOS. also, what do i do next?
Yes, the jist of the letter was that they were sorry i didnt find the offer of £275 acceptable, they dont refund charges, going to give me £550 as a gesture of goodwill.
