Default Nationwide continuing to close accounts despite being represented as bullies on TV

Nationwideicon appear still determined to close accounts of people who complain about their charges.

This is despite the fact they they were specifically mentioned on the BBC Watchdog programme and were portrayed as bullies (along with the others).

More intriguingly, these account closures are set to go ahead despite the fact that the incoming Chief of Nationwide Graham Beale stated only a few days ago that penalties were unfair and should not be the means by which Free Bankingicon is funded.

Beale is an accountant and he will have an intimate knowledge of the costs of customer transgressions. This is a man will know the truth of the situation and will be fully aware of the unlawfulness of the charges.

Clearly Beale who has not even started his job yet is out of touch with practice on the ground at the Nationwide. I wonder if he is aware that a Nationwide spokesman told BBC radio 4 that people who incurred penalties are serial abusers of their accounts.

Of course, we all know the truth which is that it is the banks which are the serial abusers of the accounts and now it looks as if they intend to become serial abusers of the Banking Codeicon just as they have been serial abusers of the courts servce for over a year and not to mention the fact they they are serial abusers of the trust which has been reposed in them by millions of their customers for many years.

Even by the grossest serial abuse standards the bank's serial abuse of their customers' accounts is conducted on a Holocaust scale and 6 million people is probably a fair estimate of how many customers have been affected.

Default Re: Nationwide continuing to close accounts despite being represented as bullies on T

Nice post, the more people become aware of this site and sites like it, the more claims get filed. Nationwideicon and the banks will have to start making a choice becuase they cant afford to lose tens of thousands of customers. My charges claim has just been acknowledged on MCOL and i have set a new account up anticipating the closure of my account. I havent incurred one charge since 2005 so they will have a hard time justifying closing my account becuase i cant run it properly, if they do there going back to court.

Any im still waiting on a reply from the IC with regards to this stolen laptop information. If i dont get what i want, then again ill let the court decide.

What this site has done has given people the means to stand up for themselves, in the past we had all just accepted the these charges were fair, on the banks say so - and would of never conceived that they were not being completly honest)we could not possibly go to court becuase it was too expensive and you would have had to hire a solicitor etc....well we have shown we can do it online sitting in our chairs at home with a credit card, i personally found it rather ironic that i paid my £120 court costs with my Nationwide Credit Card)) effectivly using there money to sue them.

So well done to everyone, especially those who helped set this site and and who help run it day to day. I do feel this is just the beginning, the banks are already running around trying to find any excuse to charge us for anything becuase they know this just the tip of the iceburg, and the money to pay us has to come from somewhere. God forbid it would be the 7billion in profits they have just made......
