Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Sent my prelim letter on 15th February and sent them a secure message at the same time.
Today I received my first "We feel the charges are fair letter".
Interesting that for the first time in one of these letters (that i have seen) they have tried to explain how they come to and justify their charging structure.
"The charges set out in condition 7 of the agreement are calculated by taking into account the costs incurred by Egg in maintaining these systems and processes and dividing this sum by the estimated number of customers who will exceed their credit limits or fail to make payments. These charges therefore represent a genuine pre-estimate of the loss caused to Egg customers who break the terms of their agreement"
Whch sounds to me like they are guessing and making it up....
Bearing in mind they have replied in 7 days to my letter I assume there is no need to give them the usual 7 extra days? They have already responded and asked me to contact the Ombudsman if i am not happy and are therefore awaiting my next move.
Cool and thanks , which means I get to the MCOL stage by the 9th March I guess lol. If only I had got this far so quickly with Barclays and barclaycard where the majority of my charges lie lol. This one's only for £200.
Mind you, as i said on my other thread on barclaycard I never thought being bad with money would pay lol
