After a 5 month battle with Yorkshire (and a 4k win) im now attacking my other cards/accounts.
I have just rung RBOS as I had a credit card with them a few years back, however I have no information on my account number etc. I have just phoned them and they tell me they cant tell me any details as it is all archived and I will have to put it in wiriting.
I dont see why most other banks can, yet these cant. Is this normal procedure?

i don't know if it normal procedure for them but if you write an SAR to them they will send you the info you need. if you have no account details then you will need to put your name, address, DOB, and proof of ID in the letter. i think that the fact you didn't have the account number may be why they have said the can't find you

Sent off all documents - ie proof of ID, old address, new address - Can they find my account? - So weeks letter - chq returned, with a letter saying - no idea about this account?
Any number I can ring>?

Not surprised, this is the usual tactic right now. They probably put on your letter that they need an numerical account number to find your account right? They told me they couldn't find one of mine that was linked to an active account!!
Basically, the only way your are going to locate your account is by getting your account number - they have a good argument set out and there's not really anyway (IMO) of contesting it. How you obtain this is another story. You could try any of the following:
Firstly, did you only have an RBS credit card, or did you have an RBS account too? If you did, you may be able to get your branch to locate it (they are more helpful).
You could continue ringing RBS until you find someone who is more helpful.
If you sent payments online from your bank account, you might have an arrangement set up for it still on your bank account.
Did you make any big purchases with it? Might be able to locate the number by getting in touch with whoever you made the purchase with and see if they have the details of the card you paid with.
Not so long ago, a lot of receipts used to print out the card numbers in full, might you have any of these?
What about email confirmations? Do you have emails back that far?
What about companies like Amazon who store card details in your "MY ACCOUNT"?
What about bank statements? Did you use to pay money by direct debit / standing order / single payments to your credit card? If so, do your bank statements show the account number?
Finally, if you used to pay your card off through a bank account, your bank MIGHT be able to look through the payment history on your account and locate the reference number linked to your payment.

My bank have no details, as it was on an old account, and that has now gone (Thanks Yorkshire)
I then phoned RBOS, who said yes we can see the Account but we have no account details. But as I am at a new address, I would have to fax or write in, with new details - Which I have already done, and they sent it back saying no account traced.
So what the hell do I do now.
