Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have had an account with HSBC for 15 years until 2004 when I defaulted and they closed the account. At that time I had a loan with them and due to a relationship breakup I got myself into difficulties financially.
Looking back now at all my old bank statements I had kept, in the years between 2002 until 2004 I had total charges of about £1,000 applied to my account.
I am aware that I can try to claim charges back from previous 6 years - but is this the same case for defaulted/closed accounts? It would be great if someone could clarify this for me.
