Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I wrote to Abbey a while ago and requested details of charges that were applied to my account. They wrote back and stated that they couldn#t provide them as it was longer than 6 years ago. I recently looked at my credit report on line and saw that a default was on there! I can't remember the date but I Abbey say it was longer than 6 years ago then can I get that default removed?
Would I be able to get them on anything else as this has been effecting my credit rating quite severely?
Your credit report will show the date the default was registered. It can only remain on file for 6 years after. You should contact the credit company if it has been kept longer than it should. Make sure it is off all the credit agencies as well ie equifax / experian & call credit.
