Dont think anyone recently has received a large refund from the bank. There are a few including myself who have entered claims against Barclaysicon. They are defending these or delaying these as long as possible. Just another way to keep hold of our money longer.

Dont worry about it, just go for it. What they are doing is illegal and wrong.

I'm sorry to be hard nosed about this but I preferred Merly's answer.

Anyone who can't find the letters just hasn't troubled to read the forum material or the FAQs and this is essential to understanding how to claim and what it is all about.

Please don't pm me about specific questions unless you have posted and it has not been dealt with or unless the matter is confidential.
Please include a link to the post you want me to look at. If you have received a defence, contact me.

    Hi

Have another, very detailed read through the FAQ section. This gives great deal of guidance for the next step, and all the wording you need to enter into the claim form (either online or in person at your local court)

The more time you can spend re-reading this info, the better. It will also help to put your mind at ease. Remember, you are about to take the bank to court, you shouldn't step into this without being sure of what might happen.

Having said that, I'm sure you will be fine.

    Good luck

    Default barclays bank settlements

    Dear members,
Have been watching this site with interesticon and have sent off my first letter to them. But I am rather anxious as Barclaysicon seem to be rather "tough" and unfazed by all this and I would very much like to know if ANYONE as got a settlement in full yet! Please let me know if you have,
    all the best maggie

I have had a full refund from Barclaysicon.

EDIT: in fact, I have had a full 'refund' from every bank I have challenged.

Thank you that is good news, how far along the process did you have to go to get the full refund from Barclaysicon and did it take very long? Also did they recredit your account and was your account frozen at any stage because of your actions? thank you maggie

My account was closed 3 years ago.

I sent the 'give me my money back or else' letter, and it was ignored.

I phoned on the 14th day and told them that unless I got the money sent to me today I would start proceedings the next day.

They went away, came back, asked how much it was, then said a cheque was in the post.

It was, it arrived 3 days later - followed by a letter telling me that I couldn't have it back!!!

That is really interesting,it sounds as though you were one of the early claimants, I wonder if they are getting a bit cagey about it now.I sent them my first letter claiming £925 over 2004-2005. the 28 days I gave is up now and all I have received from them is a standard letter saying how sad for you and here is a booklet on how to complain! I guess I must now say that I will be pursueing this in the c c and give perhaps 14 days to reply? What do you think?
    thanks magg

Why did you give them 28 days?

If they think you are not serious they will continue to string you along hoping that you will give up.

Had to give 28 days as we were away for 25 days in the motorhome in deepest Yorkshireicon and Derbyshire so didnt get my post until I arrived home this morning, I am serious, that money would be very welcome, I have stayed resolutely in the black since last year but 2004- 2005 was dire and Barclaysicon did not help AT ALL naturally, in fact their ruthless and cynical charging policy made things worse. m
