Hello all
just to add another thread to what appears to be a rapidly growing part of the Forum, i sent my DPA request to Natwest 13/02/2007, until i can confirm from the statements, my guestimate is around £1200 not a massive amount by some standards but just want a bit of justice
Hello all
just to add another thread to what appears to be a rapidly growing part of the Forum, i sent my Data Protection Act request to Natwest 13/02/2007, until i can confirm from the statements, my guestimate is around £1200 not a massive amount by some standards but just want a bit of justice
cheers
Kirkyfosh
hello and welcome It will but a few beers! Please keep us informed.
ok i have just had a bizarre experience,
i cancelled a Standing order in my bank as i have now moved over to my parachute account, but Natwest in there infinate wisdom still payed it
so i duly rang and asked why "yada yada internet cancellation takes longer yada yada speak to our "comrade" in online banking help desk"
speak to her and suddenly it all falls into place she tells me that the charge was crediteed back to my account as the standing order was unpaid and they had already recalled it,
so here i am prepared for an argument and they have already done the credit?? has anyone else found that after action has started NatWest actually take positive action on any charges to you? or is this just a blip
havent received any correspondence from natwest yet
hello all, i decided to ring the bank and ask if they had at least received my DPA letter, to be told no they had not but they may have but due to recent publicity they were unindated.
but they did say that they have would have put me through to a department that deals solely with the bank charges issue, but they are only open between 9-5, has anyone else heard this?
it was actionline telephone banking, what with them just crediting my charges from my standing order without argument and now this im sure they have received my letter now
Hello everyone have received my statements and have calculated with the help of the great spreadsheet, £391 but in regards to overdraft interest is that purely for if i had an agreed overdraft with the bank or is it on unauthoried overdrafts if it is how do i work it out
Which spreadsheet are you using? If you put in all the details from the statements it should calculate the interest for you.

Thanks Parkvale, im still really confused about the overdraft part of the spreadsheet and exactly what im putting in it.
my total charges are £391 i know i cannot add the 8% unless it goes to court but how do i calculate the unauthorised overdraft interest on the charges they levied?
ok so i decided to ring the bank to ask if they had received my letter (sorry yes i am that cheap that i wont send it recorded) the lady on the phone says ye and the OFT gives them 8 weeks in which to reply?? i have read somewheere on here thats a crock of the proverbial am i right, also i have decided to stick the knife in a bit more and have "as a goodwill gesture" given them 14days from the day they recevied my letter (yesterday) and will follow this up with a signed letter stating the goodwill gesture i have given the bank
they reckon i will have an offer letter within 8 weeks, i asked would it be a full settlement and she went quiet on me so can only assume no, oh the joy, i like a good scrap me
kirkyfish,
I have never heard of this OFT 8 week right of reply. I think they may be trying to spin you on that one. You will receive a .cheque soon . The amount you are claiming and the amount of claims flooding in at the moment, would make it un -economical and too time consiming for them to defend.
cheers Parkvale, i had read alot of these Threads saying they were paying out earlier but i am someone who is always prepared for the worst and frankly Naffwest have never let me down in regards to shoddy customer service lol
i do hope they pay out though, i need to buy my daughter a new car seat but thats something for another part of this forum lol
kirkyfish,
If you have never been let down by Nat West's customer service. I have a
feeling that is about to change. You will get paid, but when is another matter.
No the 8 weeks is true and is guidance on complaints, 8 weeks being the max. Anyone stating otherwise does not know what they are talking about, however, your letter your timescale and if you ring please remember only ring customer relations not general customer services who have NO access to CRU's notes system.
