Thumbs down New with major problems!!!

    Hi there,

Firstly i'd like to wish everyone luck with reclaiming monies because i seem to be hitting my head on a brick wall.

Currently I have a credit card with Capital Oneicon that I asked them to close last year in July 2006. And you have probably guessed that my problems started there. I missed a payment in August thinking my account had been closed and that I was awaiting a letter to pay off the outstanding amount, it didnt arrive. Instead I got a charge letter and phone callicon for £12 late payment, and my bank (Halifaxicon) charged me £39 for a bounced DD, because of this I had no money to pay the next months bill to capital one and the spiral started. (please be aware that I was on benefit at the time and was just trying to pay off what I owed)
I then got charged by Capital one an over limit fee because of the harges they were bunging on me and as for my halifax account as soon as money went in it went back out on charges leaving me with nothing to live on let alone feed my daughter and pay the rent.

This is still going on, although over the past week it has got worse because I started to be able to pay the monthly installments and clear as much as possible leaving me almost £100 under my limit, then disaster again my bank returned a payment charged me, capital one charged me, and charged me again and again and now I am over £200 OVER my limit and climbing. they will not close the account, they will not accept a monthly clearin amount, and they are phoning up to 8 times a day mornin noon and night.

I had a baby in november and all my wages went out the window for the month and this is where the problem is lying, i havent been able to catch up.

Bearing in mind i havent used the card since the beginning of 2006, i cant understand why there is so much in the way of outstanding debt, hats the point in paying it when they are just going to continue charging me.

Someone please help because if i dont get this sorted soon i think i may just go nuts.

    Thank s for looking.

Sorry I forgot to say I cancelled the DD last month. But Capital Oneicon are really harassing me and my family, i was on a business trip last week and my partner told them this they still phoned 6 times every day to speak to me.. Whats up with these people do they not understand the words not here. To make it worse they are calling my business line as well, which they shouldnt even have the number for and I dont know where they found it.
